There is always something fun to do in Kerrville, and the month of May is no exception! We have included 11 events that are “must attends” if you’re in our area. We hope to see you at one, two, or ALL of them. 1. The 2nd Annual Return to Kerrville Fly-In: Plan to spend Mother’s Day weekend (May 10th-11th) with us. The events begin Saturday morning and continue throughout the day, and include planned activities that will delight any who attend. Tour the newly reopened Mooney Aircraft factory/plant, visit the vendor booths, take a helicopter ride, and dance the evening away to the music of Men In Black. 2. The 4th Annual Kerrfest: Participate in a celebration of fun from Thurs., May 15th – Sun/, May 18th. Rodeo, chili cook-off, beer fest, dance, BBQ cook-off, jackpot team roping, people’s choice home brewing, washer pitching tourney, dance, zoofari, kids’ activities, food, vendors, family fun, live music and more. 3. The Kerrville Folk Festival begins on May 22nd and will run through June 8th. This Texas Hill Country based international songwriter’s festival features over 100 songwriters and their bands. Family affair with concerts, arts & crafts, kids concerts, food and camping. 4. The Southwest Gourd Fine Art Show begins May 22nd and extends through June 22nd. The national competition attracts the best gourd artists in America. 5. The 11th Annual Texas Masters of Fine Art & Crafts: An exhibition of 25 of the finest professional artists and crafts people from all over Texas can be seen at the Y.O. Ranch Hotel & Conference Center on May 23rd- 25th. 6. The Masters of Fine Art & Craft at the Inn of the Hills will offer art enthusiasts another opportunity to appreciate, experience and support great pieces May 23rd – 25th. 7. Kerr County Market Days: An old fashioned market featuring handmade crafts, original artwork, home grown plants & produce along with food and music will take over the lawn of the Kerr County Courthouse on May 24th and 25th. 8. Kerrville Festival of the Arts: Our historic downtown will be the site for this new venue on May 24th and 25th . All art will be designed and executed by the individual artist, and the artists will be on hand to meet with visitors. 9. The 2nd Annual Texas Hill Country Wine & Brew Festival, held on Saturday, May 24th at Lake Comanche Trace, will feature Texas wines, craft beer, live entertainment, specialty food and retail vendors from around Texas. 10. The 1st Annual Rock the River Rodeo and Dance will be held all day at Crider’s Rodeo & Dancehall. Timed events will begin at 10am and bull riding at 7pm. You can dance under the beautiful Texas sky after the rodeo to the music of Texas Country superstar Nick Lawrence. 11. The Sentimental Journey Orchestra is back on Sunday afternoon, May 25th, for the 2nd Annual Memorial Day celebration of music from the golden era of the big bands.
