Keep in mind that this is one person’s opinion.Last year I sprang for the VIP after going regular admission the year before. The real benefit is the lack of lines – you’ll get to pretty much taste everything you want, without ever waiting in a line longer than 3-4 people. So if paying the extra $ for that appeals to you, then go for it.The VIP experience is also supposed to provide an opportunity to meet and mingle with the brewers. This was the part I was most disappointed in. I would say that less than 50% of the breweries had someone out in the VIP area to talk to. Early on some of the brewers were coming out with pitchers and sharing samples, but that dried up quickly as well. The other issue I had was with some of the breweries running out of beer, but this is something that seems to happen at a lot of festivals, so certainly not unique to this one.Personally, I wont be going this year, but thats for my own reasons. I think this event is a great opportunity to try a lot of great TX beers, in a cool location, and the VIP is worth it if you really want to try a lot of things and not wait in long lines to get there.
