A clandestine meeting; a brewfest approaches

The snow is gone, The Snow remains
…for now.
One by one our anniversary beers have gone the way of the dodo. Mister Superfantastisch, our berlinerweisse, put up a good fight, but by the end of the day Saturday it too had kicked its last keg.
The only beer that remains is The Snow, our imperial stout. That won’t be around much longer either: we’re on our final keg of it. If I were a betting man I’d say it won’t last the night.
Get dyrty
As a special treat for you pussy willow loving folks, Drew brewed up something special: Drew’s Dyrty Dyngus, a grätzer/grodzinskie beer standing at a mellow 3.2% abv but packing a hidden punch: it’s brewed with 100% oat-smoked wheat malt, providing a lasting smoke/umami flavor in the tail of your sip.
It’s on Tap 10 for samples only, so try a taste when you stop in!
Bidwell draws nigh
There are only two Saturdays left until we’re done at the Horsefeathers market! Starting May 10 we’ll be at the Bidwell farmer’s market from 8-1 on Saturdays for all your growler filling needs.
I know I said this last week, but it bears repeating: this also means that starting May 10 we will not have Saturday hours at the brewery. We’ll miss them as much as you will, but unfortunately it takes more manpower to set up at Bidwell and so it’s all hands on deck.
Now then, what about beer?
Earlier this week there was a meeting. Shadowy figures, whispering, vaguely Masonic symbolism.
Or Corey from Big Ditch stopped by to discuss a collaboration with Rudy. One of the two. I mean, I wasn’t there: maybe there was whispering and vaguely Masonic symbolism?
The two were hammering out details for the CBW/Big Ditch collaboration for the Farm-to-Pint beer tasting at Hamburg Brewing on May 18. We’ll be making an American pale ale with NYS pale malt and WNY grown nugget, cascade and chinook hops!
A note on parking
Hello! I hope this finds you well. Just a quick note: CBW doesn’t have a parking lot by the brewery. The lot on the corner is for the building there, not for us, and so we’d appreciate it if you’d use the street instead when you come to get growlers filled. Thank you!
Do you know a high school seniors?
The West Side Business & Taxpayers Association, of which we’re a member, has announced their 2014 scholarship:

With many high school seniors beginning to receive college acceptance letters, the West Side Business & Taxpayers Association (WSBTA) is proud to announce its annual scholarship awards, which will be presented to three Buffalo high school seniors who plan to pursue a two- or four-year college degree in a business related field. A $1,000 award will be presented in the fall of 2014 to each of three students

If you know someone who’s interested, here’s the application, which is due by May 15.
See you at Tap!
WSBTA Scholarship It’s hard to believe, but this weekend is TAP NY! If you don’t have anything going on, might I suggest a road trip to Hunter Mountain? 34 — yes, thirty four — New York breweries will be in attendance for a two day festival celebrating all our state has to offer.
It’s one hell of a time, and we hope to see you there!
