Thanks for the excellent input guys, its really useful stuff. What I am taking from your comments is;Drop the 1 min addition and bolster flavour additionsDrop or reduce the Admiral so it doesn’t overpower the BX and pioneerReduce or even drop the crystalUp the IBU’sThe yeast is sitting in my fridge, Burton has an attenuation of 73-76% so it one of the more attenuative English strains. I have US-04 but is less attenuative than Burton.I would still like to include the admiral because it aroma is supposed to be very citrusy and the resinous flavour comes more from boiling. Admiral is suggested as a very good dry hop, so I will cut it back to dry hop only to avoid the resinous flavours.Fuller’s make there traditional English IPA using 3% caramel malt and an English pale malt. So I will cut out the Crystal 60 completely and drop back the caramel to 3%ish following Fuller’s lead as I know that Fuller’s are pretty historically accurate when it comes to many of there beers.I have also know include some Dextrose to lower the FG and dry the beer slightly. Here is the revised versionBatch Size (fermenter): 6.08 galEstimated OG: 1.063 SGEstimated FG: 1.010 SGEstimated Color: 5.6 SRMEstimated IBU: 67.3 IBUsSG/IBU ratio: 1.063Brewhouse Efficiency: 63.00 %Est Mash Efficiency: 74.6 %Boil Time: 60 Minutes13 lbs 10.7 oz Pale Malt, Golden Promise (Thomas Fawcet Grain) 88.3 %7.4 oz Caramalt (Thomas Fawcett) (15.0 SRM) 3.0 %7.4 oz Wheat, Torrified (Thomas Fawcett) 3.0 %14.1 oz Corn Sugar (Dextrose) (0.0 SRM)0.99 oz Challenger [8.00 %] – Boil 60.0 min1.22 Items Whirlfloc Tablet (Boil 15.0 mins)0.99 oz Bramling Cross [7.60 %] – Boil 15.0 min Hop0.99 oz Pioneer [10.25 %] – Boil 15.0 min0.50 tsp Yeast Nutrient (Boil 10.0 mins)1.98 oz Bramling Cross [6.00 %] – Steep/Whirlpool 20mins1.98 oz Pioneer [10.25 %] – Steep/Whirlpool 20mins1.0 pkg Burton Ale (White Labs #WLP023)0.50 tsp Gelatin (Primary 5.0 days) Fining 13 -1.98 oz Admiral [14.50 %] – Dry Hop 3.0 Days1.98 oz Bramling Cross [7.60 %] – Dry Hop 3.0 Days1.98 oz Pioneer [10.25 %] – Dry Hop 3.0 DaysI have keep the dry hop and whirlpool really big, as that is the main feature in this beer.
