Some Albuquerque brewers are taking the beer out of their basement thanks to thousands in local donations. Patrick Johnson and Zachary Gould are the co-founders of a new pub and brewery called the Ale Republic that’s set to open next year. Johnson said it started as a beer club in his basement three years ago. To get the funding they needed, they took their idea to Kickstarter. More than 300 backers funded their $25,000 goal.
