Black Abbey Brewing Plans a Busy Week of Beer and Food Events

It seems like I’m seeing Black Abbey’s beers on more and more taps around town. They currently have more than 50 placements in bars and taprooms in Middle Tennessee, so clearly local beer drinkers appreciate what they are brewing over on Sidco Drive. If you’d like to find out more about their line of seven different beers, Black Abbey has planned several new opportunities to hear their story and taste their beers over the next week.

Tonight, Wednesday, Jan. 22, Broadway Brewhouse Midtown is throwing a little food and beer tasting party. Starting at 7, the Brewhouse kitchen has prepared some special dishes to pair with Black Abbey’s The Rose and The Special, and both beers will be discounted at the bar.

On Thursday, Jan. 23, Frothy Monkey in Franklin has planned a Local Beer Love Dinner, featuring five courses matched with Black Abbey beers. The dinner is $40 plus tax and tip, and tickets are available here. Check out the menu:

The Black Abbey boys don’t slow down as the weekend approaches. They’re having a “hang out” at Woody’s Smokes and Brews in Cool Springs this Friday, Jan. 24, from 5 to 7 p.m. Drop in to talk to the owner/brewers of Black Abbey and get a growler or two to go. Woody’s is located at 1935 Mallory Lane.

Finally, next week Black Abbey will be showing off their special POTUS 44 porter at Craft Brewed in Melrose at an event on Jan. 29 they are calling “Cask & Candy.” They’ve partnered with The Bang Candy Company to create a POTUS 44/blackberry-sage caramel treat. Black Abbey will also be serving samples of POTUS 44 that has been aged in a Buffalo Trace whiskey barrel, cask-conditioned and primed with blackberry-sage candy syrup from Bang Candy. Join them from 5 to 9 p.m. for a taste.

If none of these times or locations is convenient for you, Black Abbey invites you to join them in their taproom, which they call the Fellowship Hall, at 2952 Sidco Drive. Hours are Thursday and Friday 3:30 to 8 p.m. and Saturday 2 to 8 p.m.
