4:00 pm ♦ Wednesday Tapping at Tribes Alehouse Mokena
The Tribes Alehouse, 11220 W. Lincoln Hwy, Mokena, IL (815) 464-0248
De Proef / Cigar City Collaboration: Tropical Triple (9.50% ABV)
This collaborative beer from De Proef and Cigar City definitely veers a fair distance from an ordinary Belgian tripel, finding its conceptual kernel as a “peaches-and-cream tripel.” While brewed with Belgian candi sugar and a traditional Trappist yeast strain, the recipe also adds a dose of lactose for additional mouthfeel (the “cream”) and finishes up with dried peaches. A Brux III strain of Brettanomyces and assertive hop additions add to the tropical angle, while further contributions of toasted coconut and medium toasted oak appear as well. Actually, it may make sense to just forget we said anything about this as being a tripel in the first place.

4:00 pm ♦ Thursday Tapping at Tribes Alehouse Tinley
The Tribes Alehouse, 9501 W. 171st St., Tinley Park, IL (708) 966-2051
Stone 17th Anniversary Götterdämmerung IPA 9.50%. Stone brewers used a grain bill comprised exclusively of pilsner malts and German hops (Herkules, Hersbrucker, Magnum, Merkur, Opal, Smaragd, Strisselspalt). Dry-hopping with Sterling, a U.S. hop with Saaz parentage, lends a bit of familiarity .
Green Flash 8th Anniversary Beer – Surfs Up Symposium IPA 7.00% We originally brewed this beer for the 2008 Craft Brewers Conference for the attendees that came from all around the world. The 2008 Surf’s Up Symposium IPA was brewed a la San Diego Style with inputs from several brewers around town. This IPA is highly quaffable, pale in color, and lighter in body with a profound emphasis on hop extravagance as we added hops at every step throughout the brewing process. We all enjoyed the beer so much that we just had to bring it back for our 8th Anniversary in 2010.

It is going to be a fantastic evening of beer, food and (if Cleetus can choose, hip-hop) music!
