Heat Exchange Mash System (HERMS) overview // BREW NERDS community

This overview is on a typical HERMS brewing system, where the mash is heated by an external source, typically a kettle with a heating element in it, water heated up to the desired temperature, and a copper coil through the kettle where the wort is circulated through to get acclimated to the water temperature.
