Homebrew! Oak-Aged Russian Imperial Stout (1) | Proper Hops #226

Derek, owner of Jay's Brewing (and homebrewing expert), brews a 9% Russian Imperial Stout with Proper Hops! This brew will be aged in an oak barrel from Deep South Barrels; recipe:

1 Deep South Barrels' white oak barrel
1/2 lbs US Chocolate Malt
1/2 lbs US Black Patent
5 lbs Dry Dark Extract
3 lbs Dry Amber Extract
1 lb Corn Sugar
2 oz Target (Pellets, 7%AA) – 60 minute boil
1 oz Pearl (Pellets, 6.5%AA) ~ 30 – 15 minute boil
2 oz Willamette (Pellets, 4.3%AA) ~ 15 – 0 minute boil
WLP005 British Ale Yeast (liquid)
Danstar Windsor Yeast (dry)

OG ~ 1.080
ABV ~ 9.0%
