maxwelldeux (4108) – Snohomish, Washington, USA – DEC 30, 2013Draught in a flight at the brewpub. Probably my favorite beer I had here. Pours a near black color with no head on it. Nose is roasty and reminds me a bit of coffee. Taste has coffee in there as well, with a bit of roasty bitterness to it. Smooth and yummy.

braznadian (59) – Washington, USA – DEC 20, 2012Had at Icicle Brewing Co. in Leavenworth, WA. Nice dark chocolate brown with a creamy tan head. Smell of dark chocolate and espresso. Smooth body leads to roasted coffee and dark chocolate flavors. Ends with a subtle sourness at finish. Hard to explain. Not sure if it was intended or not. Pretty average bitterness. This is a solid porter though not a game changer.

Dogbrick (9134) – Columbus, Ohio, USA – SEP 23, 2012Sample at the brewpub. The beer is a clear dark brown color with a medium tan head that recedes steadily to an outer ring. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee and hops. Medium-bodied with a roasty character of coffee plus some chocolate malt and hops. The finish is malty with a mild coffee aftertaste. Above average overall.

Aubrey (3482) – Bellingham, Washington, USA – FEB 14, 2012Draft at brewery: This was my second favorite Icicle brew that I tasted, after the IPA. It was a robust, roasty-good porter with tar and char blended with caramel and toffee. Bitterness was on the mild side, so the beer became a bit sweet over time, but it was solid and tasty nonetheless.

douglas88 (6893) – Portland, Oregon, USA – OCT 4, 2011On tap at GABF 2011. Wow, am I the first person to have this brewery’s beer on RB! Awesome. Pours a dark brown color, near black with a small light beige head. A nice nose of roast, chocolate, light pine. The flavor is dominated by a robust roast which meets with some hops to produce a nice metallic bit, fairly dry, dark chocolate, very smooth.
