Main Street Newnan Oktoberfest beer tasting tonight

Main Street Newnan continues its fall event schedule with the much anticipated annual Oktoberfest Boutique Beer Tasting tonight, Oct. 18, between 5 and 9 p.m.

This 2013 edition features 27 locations offering everything from seasonal selections such as Samuel Adams and Leinenkugel Oktoberfest and New Belgium Brewing’s Pumpkick Ale to unique craft beers such as Magic Hat Brewing’s #9 and Southern Tier Brewing’s 2XIPA American Double IPA. With regular favorites Yuengling Black & Tan, Blue Moon Brewing’s Belgian White and a full complement of varieties from Sweetwater Brewing, Goose Island Beer and New Belgium Brewing, this year’s event offers participants the opportunity to enjoy a wide variety of distinctive flavors.

Complimentary refreshments, retail sales specials and other treats will be made available for all participating attendees.

Advance tickets were available at or at the following downtown locations: Morgan Jewelers, Gillyweed, Bell’s Handcrafts and Blue Moon Boutique. Advance tickets are $20. Tickets purchased in advance will be available at the event registration table. The registration table will be located in front of Cook Office Equipment, 3 East Court Square.

Tickets may also be purchased at the registration table the afternoon and evening of the event. Tickets purchased on the day of the event will be $25. The registration table will open at 4 p.m. Acceptable forms of payment include cash, check and credit card.

All event attendees must visit the registration table to provide a valid photo ID. Additionally, each participant will receive a unique commemorative event glass, an event bracelet and an informational brochure detailing each of the participating locations and their specific beer offering.

Bracelets must be worn at all times and will not be given to participants under the age of 21.
