The Austin Beer Garden Brewing Co. (commonly referred to as just ABGB) has been the latest reason for Austinites to travel south when looking for a night out. As the name implies, the location brews its own beer – ten of them, to be precise – and serves thin-crust pizzas and sandwiches. The emphasis of the place is on local and sustainable food, with produce provided by Johnson’s Backyard Garden and proteins from Salt & Time Butcher Shop. This Monday, right in time for Labor Day, ABGB will be celebrating their first anniversary.
To celebrate, there will be plenty of activities available. Brewery tours will take place at 12:30pm, 1:30pm and 2:30pm. There will be happy hour all day long, as well as extra beers on tap. A tasty cookout will be made possible by Chef Tim, and a dunk booth will be on site to benefit Austin Habitat for Humanity. Of course, an Austin celebration isn’t right without music: Mike and the Moonpies, Carson McHone, Mrs. Glass, and Ben Ballinger will be performing.
The first birthday party will take place at the one and only ABGB from 12pm to 10pm.
