On Wednesday the 24th of October in 2013, Dine Downtown Baltimore hosted a free beer & oyster tasting kicking off Maryland Crab & Oyster Celebration at Center Plaza in the heart of downtown Baltimore Maryland conveniently located in the center of Baltimore near Mount Vernon, West Baltimore and even the Inner Harbor. It was the biggest Oyster and Beer feast of this Fall. Who knew one open space could hold so many oysters in one outside Plaza. This complimentary Beer and Urban Oyster Tasting was a one stop shop for everything oysters and beers. Talk about a fresh shucking and down-up beer tastings!

The celebration took place from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 serving food samplings and beer. Did you know the first 400 guest in attendance received a free four-ounce tasting glass? The Maryland oysters were flowing from every corner of Center Plaza. The food samples range from the following:
Raw Oyster served up 50 cent oysters with a limit of ten per person.
- Alewife served up free roasted turkey chowder
- H. Matisse served barbecue pulled chicken sandwiches topped with crabmeat.
- J. Paul’s served up crab soup and oyster stuffing. The oyster stuffing was so delicious.
- Ryleigh’s Oyster served up grilled oysters priced at 6 for $8.
- Sutton Place served up vegetable soup.
The brew tastings selection included the following, whereas, each guest was given six complimentary on Ozzy Ale from Brewer’s Art; Duckpin Pale Ale and Balt Altbier from Union Craft Brewing; Heavy Seas Loose Cannon, Stone Beer Smoked Porter from Alewife and Stella Artois.
The brew beverage and food pairing list was a great selection. Such a cool idea to have six varies of 4oz pours for each beer. The coolest part of complimentary event was the festive musical environment with heating lamps for this awesome Fall weather that Mother Nature brought. During the celebration attendees were allowed to mix and mingle enjoy private patio and bench seating. There was a tennis table available with six VIP guest in attendance.
