HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) — Three Brothers Brewing in Harrisonburg is being recognized nationally.
They took home a bronze medal from the Great American Beer Festival competition in Denver, Colorado on October 13th.
The festival is the largest national competition in the country.
Three Brothers Brewing was recognized in the Wood Barrel Aged Beer category for their Rum Barrel Aged Belgian Dubbel.
More than 200 judges looked at more than 4,000 beers. This is the first time three brothers brewing entered the competition, and Owner Jason Shifflett said this medal in particular is one that’s really sought after.
“Kind of the award to win at this festival so you know, we were thrilled to get it and I think it will help us in the long run. People are trying to do stuff different and do a lot of barrel aging and that type of thing so you’re getting a lot of very good breweries trying to get into this category,” said Shifflett.
They will be adding the award to the new labels for the beer.
