Good People Brewing Co.’s Joel Harris.Good People was recently mentioned in a state-by-state ranking of states for beer.
Beer drinkers around the country have plenty of reason to celebrate, as the craft-beer industry continues to grow—even in Alabama.
Yahoo Food recently compiled a list ranking each U.S. state based on the beer served. Alabama ended up in the top half, ranked No. 22 on the list, despite home brewing only being legal in the state for the last year.
Alabama appealed to Yahoo Food because of the Free The Hops movement and one Birmingham brewery continuing to build its national reputation as a beacon of craft beer.
The Yahoo report said one of their “big deals” in the Alabama beer scene is Good People Brewing Company, “which has really cool cans, and fills them with a splendid double IPA called Snake Handler that would’ve gotten them all very arrested three years ago,” the report said.
The craft beer is indeed booming in Alabama, as we have previously reported, and the state is not alone. Around the country, new breweries and brew-pubs continue to pop up as alcohol laws become less restricting.
In a state like Alabama, which is doubling the size of breweries each year according to Yahoo, this is sure to mean changes to a growing business climate.
