Whole Foods Brewing to begin beer distribution – Houston craft beer

Whole Foods Market broke ground last year when it opened Whole Foods Brewing Company, the first brewery located inside a grocery store. The Galleria- area brewpub has quickly grown in popularity and attracted more customers to this Whole Foods location- the only one where consumers can shop for groceries and enjoy a fresh, home- brewed beer.
Now, with the success of Whole Foods Brewing Company in the books, Whole Foods is taking its beer to the next level. Starting this Saturday, August 8, Whole Foods Brewing will begin distribution of its beer to other Whole Foods stores. Kicking off the first distribution is Post Oak Pale Ale, one of 38 different beers brewed at the Post Oak Galleria location and a solid first choice for this city wide event.
To celebrate this monumental occasion, Whole Foods is sponsoring a special tapping event at all ten Houston- area Whole Foods locations. The ceremonial tapping will take place on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at 12 p.m., with simultaneous tappings across the metropolitan area. Members of the public are welcome to attend and celebrate the moment.

On September 18, 2015, Whole Foods Brewing will begin statewide distribution across Texas. Brew Master Dave Ohmer plans a visit to the Lamar Whole Foods in Austin and will serve as master of ceremonies for the first Whole Foods Brewing keg tapping outside of Houston. Craft beer fans will have a second chance to meet Ohmer on September 19, 2015 when he arrives at the 2015 Texas Craft Brewers Festival, held at Fiesta Gardens in Austin, Texas.
Whole Foods Brewing has come a long way since it was launched less than one year ago. What started as an in- house brewing operation serving beer to grocery shoppers has blossomed into a full- fledged brewery with a large and growing fan base. With distribution now planned for Whole Foods Stores across the state, Whole Foods Brewing has taken its game to a new level. I wouldn’t be surprised if kegs of Whole Foods Brewing beer start to show up in local taverns and restaurants one day but in the meantime, celebrate this first step by visiting a Whole Foods near you on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at 12 p.m. sharp.
