With Burns night travelling faster and faster towards us haggis lovers in London who are travelling to Scotland for the celebrations will be pleased to hear that a haggis beer has been created especially for Burns Night.
The beer is being made by The Cromarty Brewing Company and it has flavours pepper, mace, coriander and nutmeg – but not meat gladly.
It will be served at the Anderson restaurant in Fortrose, Ross-shire, on January 25 to celebrate the life of author Robert Burns, who wrote a number of Scots poems.
‘I wanted to serve it from a sheep’s stomach’, brewer Craig Middleton said.
Burns died in 1796 and the event, in his memory, started taking place shortly afterwards.
